This Week on the Homestead: Finished Projects, Family Celebrations, and God’s Faithfulness

June 12, 2026

It has been another full and busy week here on the homestead. Between projects around the house, family coming into town, and preparing for a major milestone, we’ve been running from one task to the next. We’re definitely feeling tired, but we’re also feeling incredibly blessed.

The House Is Finally Finished!

After weeks of waiting, frustrations, and setbacks, we’re excited to say that the house painting project is finally complete, and we absolutely love it!

Seeing the finished product has made all the challenges along the way feel worth it. The fresh paint has completely transformed the look of our home, and it’s satisfying to finally check such a large project off the list.

Of course, as every homeowner knows, finishing one project usually means another one is waiting around the corner.

Next Up: Rebuilding the Front Porch

Now that the painting is complete, our attention is turning toward the front porch. The current plan is for my amazing husband to tackle rebuilding it sometime in July.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that there is very little he can’t build or fix. While a porch rebuild is no small task, I know he’ll do an incredible job.

In the meantime, he’s hardly been sitting still.

Projects Around the House

This week, he rebuilt and stained the steps leading out our back door, and they look fantastic. It’s amazing how much of a difference fresh, well-built steps can make.

As if that wasn’t enough, he also built me a beautiful new flower bed along the side of the house. I can’t wait to start filling it with flowers and bringing even more color to our little corner of the world.

His hard work and dedication never cease to amaze me, and our homestead is better because of it.

Celebrating Our Oldest

One of the biggest events this week has been preparing for the college graduation of our oldest child.

It’s hard to put into words how proud we are. Watching your children grow, work hard, and achieve their goals is one of the greatest blessings of parenthood.

This weekend we’re planning a family barbecue to celebrate this milestone. We’re looking forward to gathering together, enjoying good food, and recognizing all the hard work that led to this accomplishment.

Grandma Is in Town

Another highlight of the week has been having my mom in town.

Her visits are always such a blessing. She’s the kind of person who jumps in to help with anything and everything without being asked. Whether it’s helping around the house, lending a hand with projects, or simply being present, she makes life easier for everyone around her.

But beyond being helpful, she’s also just plain fun. She has a way of making us laugh, lifting spirits, and bringing extra joy into even the busiest days. Her presence always brightens our home.

Moving Forward One Day at a Time

As we wrap up another week, we’re feeling the weight of a full schedule and long days. There never seems to be a shortage of projects, responsibilities, or things that need our attention.

We’re exhausted, if we’re being honest.

But we’re also grateful.

Grateful for family. Grateful for progress. Grateful for opportunities to celebrate. Grateful for a home we’re continually improving. And most of all, grateful for God’s provision through it all.

As we head into another busy week, our prayer is simple: Lord, give us the energy, wisdom, and strength we need to keep moving forward and to serve You faithfully in all that we do.

“Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31

Thanks for following along with our homestead journey. We’ll see you next week!
